This fact coupled with the current societal anxiety levels, positions the spa industry as a legitimate part of the solution to today’s health care challenges.

Spas reduce stress, which fosters wellbeing and reduces health problems. While spa services are not the magic spell to save our health care system, they do represent a tangible way to tackle the “stress crisis” and mitigate some of the strain on our health care resources.

Mani's for Mammaries a Huge Success

On Thursday night, OASIS Spa and Lounge hosted the Country 95.3 Rack Pack's Mani's for Mammaries event in support of the team's fundraising efforts for the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. Hosted by Country 95.3 Morning Show host Leanne Cater and OASIS owner, Tamarra Hay, a sold out crowd was treated to fine wine, gourmet food and manicures by the best esthetics staff in the business.

Tamarra Hay was recognized with the BEST HOSTESS award. In a field dominated by trendy restaurants and night clubs, this is a pretty exciting award. I guess word is getting out that OASIS is a great alternative to the same old girls night out.

Massage therapist Ashely was recognized in the BEST MASSAGE THERAPIST category. Ashley's blend of clinical skill, sports knowledge and warm personality have made her an instant client favourite at OASIS. This award comes as no surprise to those who have seen her in action!

The OASIS Team Hits the Slopes

Once again this year, we had the pleasure of accompanying a large contingent of friends, neighbours and clients on an annual Ancaster pilgrimage to Vermont in search of powdery snow and some of the finest skiing and riding in the east.

Record high temperatures, incredible spring conditions and the warm and friendly Okemo staff made for a great way to reconnect with our Ancaster community and our clients. A great time was had by all.

Social Spa'ing South Florida Style

In our continuing quest to build a warm, social spa experience for our clients, OASIS recently went on a roadtrip...embarking on a 9 day expedition to find new ideas, services and products for enhancing our award winning social spa model even further.

The ultimate discovery on this business adventure was the idyllic island of Anna Maria, off the coast of Bradenton. Beautiful gulf breezes, powdery white sand beaches and incredible sunsets set the backdrop for a warm, inviting approach to customer service, an approach that mirrors our own at OASIS.

Perhaps the finest example of this approach, was provided by the quaint 10 room Sea Side Inn and Resort (http://www.seasideresort.com/) owned by David Teitlebaum and managed by Debi Znaczko. The Sea Side has found the perfect balance between excellent customer service, ideal location and unbridalled relaxation . It is truly a gem among resorts and not to be missed!

Ancaster Avalanche Girls Shut Out Hunger

The Anaster Avalanche Girls Hockey Association got into the true spirit of the season this year with the first annual Hockey for Hunger Challenge in Support of the Good Shepherd Food Bank.

Lead by Clayton Boxall's Pee Wee B team and sponsored by OASIS Spa and Lounge, the Hockey for Hunger Challenge collected over 500 non-perishable food items to help stock the shelves at the all too busy Hamilton food bank. Each player and their families donated one or more food items per game over the course of the Challenge, with the winning team receiving a team pizza party and bragging rights until next year.

Special thanks go out to the girls on Novice Maroon team, Novice White team, PeeWee A team and Boxall's Pee Wee B team for their enthusiasm and generosity.in making the Hockey for Hunger Challenge such a success.

It was really amazing to see these young hockey players stepping up to help out those less fortunate during the holiday season. OASIS was honoured to be involved with this worthy cause and we look forward to next year's Challenge!

Well our media release caught the eye of the editors at DAYSPA Magazine, "the" pre-eminent international Spa industry magazine, and spawned this month's feature article on the Power of Pink!!

OASIS Supports the Country 95.3 Rack Pack and the Weekend to End Breast Cancer

OASIS Spa and Lounge, is proud to support the fundraising efforts of the Country 95.3 “Rack Pack” for the Weekend to End Breast Cancer 60km walk that they will be participating in September 5 to 7, 2008.
The “Rack Pack”, including local radio personalities Lea Cater, Sam Cook and Elvira Caria, raised over $17,000 for Breast Cancer Research through their 6-hour on-air “Broad-cast” this past Sunday, and over $43,000 to date!!!
During the “Broad-cast”, OASIS owner Tamarra Hay stopped by the studio to present the Rack Pack with over $1000 worth of OASIS Spa Gift Certificates to use to encourage listener donations to this very worthy cause.

Lights...Camera...Action!! OASIS Spa and Lounge proudly welcomed CHTV and Lesley Stewart to the spa earlier this summer. The ever popular CH personality was at OASIS to talk to owner Tamarra Hay about our innovative social approach to the spa experience. Special men’s spa packages, group spa days and girls night spa parties were all on the agenda.

Breast Cancer Fundraiser at OASIS Spa and Lounge a Huge Success!!

OASIS Spa and Lounge, 2008 winner of the Hamilton's Best Spa award, and cancer survivor Sandra Epping partnered to host a hugely successful Nails and Cocktails fundraiser on Thursday, May 1, 2008, in support of the Weekend to End Breast Cancer.

OASIS Spa and Lounge owner Tamarra Hay and Ms. Epping hosted an evening for 40 women at this sold out event. Guests were treated to luxurious manicures followed by gourmet appetizers and cocktails in OASIS' award winning licensed wine lounge, with all proceeds going to support breast cancer research, clinical care and survivorship programs at Princess Margaret Hospital.
OASIS Spa and Lounge is proud to support Ms. Epping in her fundraising efforts for such an important and personal cause. Her journey with breast cancer started when she was just a few years old; her mom Audrey Matters was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 31. That was in 1969 and they just didn't know as much as they do today about fighting breast cancer. Her mom died November 1, 1972 at the age of 34. She had just turned 6 years old. When Ms. Epping was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 36 in 2003 she knew that she had a better chance of beating breast cancer than her mom had. She had a lumpectomy, 6 months of chemotherapy and 5 weeks of radiation. This summer it will be 5 years since she was diagnosed! Ms. Epping is a survivor. Ms. Epping is walking in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer and OASIS Spa and Lounge is proud to support her.
